Pacolet, South Carolina (WSPA) – Pacolet Middle School will continue e-learning after dozens of students have been in close contact with positive cases of COVID-19 at a community event, according to school officials.
To be on the safe side, students will continue to hold e-learning days on Thursday, February 11th and Friday, February 12th. DHEC and district managers have determined that dozens of students will be considered for community events that are not related to the school. As the positive students returned to school, additional students and staff were exposed and considered to be closely related. “E-Learning Day helps students and staff stay safe and healthy, while ensuring that close stakeholders don’t show symptoms by the time they return to school,” the release said.
Meanwhile, the maintenance team will continue to perform a thorough daily deep clean throughout the school. The school advises parents to limit social contact with non-family students in order to protect students and their families.
