Pueblo — An old Pueblo man, who was reported missing after wandering from an independent long-term care home, was found dead in a nearby canyon.
Pueblo Chieftain Report 81-year-old Daniel Otello was reported missing on July 17, and was found dead south of the facility on Wednesday. His husband, 73-year-old Neil Woodward, said Otello got out of bed early and didn’t come back.
Otello, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, tended to leave the house and wander. When Otello did not return to bed, Woodward went looking for him and later notified the police.
The cause of death and the method of death of Otello have not been clarified.
