Missouri COVID-19 Case Numbers Surge 93 Percent Over Previous Week – St. Louis, Missouri

With the latest COVID-19 data, the situation in Missouri is not good. The number of cases in the state has shown a shocking increase of 93.8% in just over a week.

During the week ending Sunday, June 13, there were 4,378 COVID-19 cases in Missouri. This is a sharp increase from the previous week, when there were 2,259 cases in the state.

Johns Hopkins University USA TODAY Network Analysis Data show that Missouri accounts for only 1.99% of the US population, but last week there were 4.41% of cases nationwide in Missouri.

In Missouri, there was no state-wide mask obligation. Mask obligations in St. Louis, St. Louis County, and Kansas City ended today a month ago. The cities of Springfield and Colombia in Missouri also terminated their local mask obligations in May.

Infectious diseases are much lower than at the height of the pandemic, and the wide availability of vaccines is encouraged by public health professionals, but cases are skyrocketing in some parts of the state. In terms of overall cases, St. Louis County has experienced the second-largest surge in the state, with hundreds of new cases reported last week.

“Overall, we added the newest cases in Green County, with 513 cases. St. Louis County, 349 cases. Jackson County was 228. Weekly cases increased in 90 counties from the previous week.”

USA Today Report Missouri is one of eight states with increased infection rates on a seven-day rolling average, and seven of these states (including Missouri) are “US average 43% complete vaccination rate. We have a lower vaccination rate than. To the Disease Control and Prevention Center. ”

According to data from Johns Hopkins University, Missouri has a total of 4,837,782 vaccinations, with 43.3 percent of the states being vaccinated at least partially. Missouri ranks 37th among the states where people have received at least one shot.

Johns Hopkins data also show that since the outbreak of the pandemic, 613,226 cases of coronavirus have occurred in Missouri, killing 9,618 people in the state.
