Kansas City, Missouri (KCTV) — The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services states that there is the first case of a Covid-19 variant known as Omicron.

“There’s still a lot to learn about this new variant, but we know that the best tool currently available to protect yourself from COVID-19 is personal prevention. We ask DHSS for information about Omicron variants and look for reliable sources of medical information against social media, “said DHSS Director Donald Kauelauf. “It is also advisable that Missouri citizens will protect themselves and continue to inform this holiday season as this new variant will be investigated further.”

Kauerauf states that delta variants remain predominant in the state, as 99% of all Covid-19 cases are delta.

The state says the incident was found in St. Louis.
