Tallahassee, Florida (WJW) — More than 170 people have been charged in connection with a large trafficking investigation in Florida.

According to Tallahassee police, a two-year investigation began after an image of a child was found on a website promoting sex for money. The child was then rescued during an operation called “Stolen Innocence.”

The investigation also led to the discovery of a huge amount of electronic evidence.

Officials said the suspects involved faced charges ranging from prostitution solicitations to trafficking of minors.

“It’s hard to understand the corruption of these criminals who prey on the most innocent in our society,” said Kevin Sibley, acting special agent for the Homeland Security Investigation Tampa. “Thanks to the joint efforts of the Tallahassee Police Department and the HSI Special Agent, the results of this investigation have made our community very safe today.”

Police are urging the public to report suspicious activity.

Some of the most common ways to identify potential victims of trafficking are:

  • The person seems malnourished.
  • They show signs of physical injury or abuse.
  • They avoid eye contact, social interaction and law enforcement.
  • They do not have official ID or personal property.
  • They never leave people.
