MT. Juliet, Tennessee (WTVF) —The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has confirmed that the agent has responded to the mountain. Juliet grocery store Thursday morning after police officers shot and injured a suspect armed with a knife. Officials said no police officer was injured.

Early in the morning, Mountain Juliet police warned the general public about the involvement of people with weapons in the Kroger district of the Providence Marketplace. Police said there was no positive threat to the community, but urged the public to avoid the area.

Investigators later tweeted the latest information, stating that the armed suspect had been detained after “the police were involved in the shooting” and was being treated at a local hospital. They said they were not injured, but there were still victims on the scene involved in the incident that led to the police response.

It is unknown what led to the firing.

The TBI later tweeted that it had confirmed that it had been called to the scene and that it would soon provide additional details.
