Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — Health officials in Multnomah County will explain COVID-19 trends and guidance for schools to county commissioners Tuesday morning before holding a press conference.

Public Health Director Jessica Garnsey, Medical Officer Dr. Jennifer Weins, and Infectious Disease Service Manager Lisa Ferguson will answer reporters’ questions from 11:30 am on Tuesday. They are ready to answer questions about COVID trends, school collaboration, and case and outbreak investigations.

Cases of COVID-19 have declined slightly since record-breaking cases were counted a few weeks ago. As of Monday, 968 people were hospitalized for the virus and 278 in the ICU bed. There are 63 adult ICU beds (10% availability) out of a total of 651 and 330 adult non-ICU beds (8% availability) out of 4,246.

To date, COVID-19 has killed 3,594 people in Oregon.
