Nashville 9/11 20th anniversary memorial procession – Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) – Metro Nashville police and fire departments will meet with Mayor John Cooper to honor the first responders on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attack.

The event begins with a commemorative procession recognizing all first responders who died on that fateful day 20 years ago.

The procession is set to start at 8am, right next to 2nd Avenue and Commerce Christmas bombing site.

The official ceremony will take place on the stairs in front of the Nashville Symphony Center, featuring Nashville firefighters’ honorary pipes and drums, and songwriter Willy Jones.

The military flyover ends a public event.

The monument is open to the public.

Free parking is available to participants at Nissan Stadium Lot R, located on the southwest side of the stadium. A free shuttle is also available to transfer participants to the Nashville Symphony Center from 7am.
