Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV)-News4 investigates a three-year speed ticket analysis in Nashville, with more speed offenders stopping at I-65 than any other interstate highway in the city. It shows that it is.
News4 also found that certain locations on the interstate highway had more speeding tickets than anywhere else, but metro police have argued that they were speeding.
According to an analysis by News4 Investigates, the top four places that are statistically most likely to receive speeding tickets are:
- Briley Parkway at McGavoc Pike
- Interstate 65 between Mile Markers 80 and 89
- Briley Parkway in Opry Mills
- Interstate 440 Interstate 65
James Williams of the Metropolis Sergeant’s Department of Transportation said police officers routinely catch speed violators far beyond the speed limit.
“Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon to find speeders above 100 mph,” Williams said.
Williams argues that there are speed traps on the interstate highway.
Instead, Williams said he was targeting areas subject to speed violations when the incidence of fatal accidents was high.
