Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) —Saturday, Rev. Enochfaz, a community activist and longtime religious leader, dedicated his birthday to the victims of the Collierville Kroger shooting.

Rev. Faz began celebrating his 66th birthday with a prayer to Collierville, a statement from Mayor John Cooper, and a silent prayer.

“We all dream of America overcoming such violence, and we hope it will come true,” Cooper said.

Collierville has a special meaning to the pastor. Down the street from Kroger is the church where he preached early in his ministry and led the revival activities at the grocery store. In addition, the house where he grew up and his elementary school were all within a mile from Kroger.

Pastor Faz, a pastor of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, said: “There are so many people who are hurt, so good people have to step up and help those who are hurt.”

The celebration took place at the Eriston Place Soda Shop on Church Street.
