Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) – The owner of a hat store in Nashville has announced an apology following a controversial Instagram post.
The Nashville Hat WRKS Hat store is located on 8th Ave S., and the owner posted it on Instagram on Friday with a yellow patch resembling the Star of David who read the word “not vaccinated”. T.
This post was later removed from my account after several people commented that it was offensive. Following the post, protesters surrounded the store on Saturday with signs of disapproval.
Well-known companies also responded to this post. Stetson is a company that sells hats, boots, western apparel, eyewear and fragrances. They publicly commented on the incident on Twitter. In a follow-up tweeted on Saturday, Stetson announced that they and their distribution partners will no longer sell all Stetson products in the store.
Goorin Bros., the global hat brand since 1895, also responded on social media with the following tweet:
In an update, the company tweeted that it didn’t accept the store owner’s opinion and said it was investigating what to do.
The owner of the hatWRKS hat store posted an apology on Instagram on Saturday. The post contained the following message: “I have no intention of downplaying the Star of David or downplaying what happened to millions of people. It’s not who I am or what I represent. My intention is It wasn’t about exploiting or profiting. It was my hope to share my true concerns and fears and do everything I could to prevent the same thing from happening again. We sincerely apologize for your rudeness. ”
