“It was a considerable journey to reach this point in my life, but I can’t be satisfied with my decision to leave,” he said. “I dreamed of becoming an NHL player from an early age. I believe that living a real life will take me all to the skating rink and give me more chances to make my dreams come true.”

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman praised Prokop “for sharing his truth and being very brave.”
“We share his hope that these announcements can become more common in the hockey community,” Betman said in a statement. “LGBTQ players, coaches and staff can only perform at their best if they live their lives as perfect and true self. They do not underestimate the meaning and importance of this announcement.”
In a statement, the Predators said the club “is proud of Luke’s courage to come out today. He will continue to grow as a vision and will clearly support him in the coming days, weeks and years.” Said.
Prokop is from Edmonton, Alberta. He played part of the last four seasons with Calgary in the Western Hockey League. He said the past year and a half has given him the opportunity to find his true self.
“I’m no longer afraid to hide who I am,” Procop said. “I may be new to the community, but I want to learn about the strong and resilient people who have come before me and pave the way for more comfort today.”
Betman promises that the NHL will “do everything possible to ensure that Luke’s experience is welcome and positive,” ensuring the support of players following his path. Work for
