Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF) —Downtown Nashville will be filled with rainbow flags and lots of love this weekend.
Nashville Pride is back and we’re back in our new location, Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The two-day festival will be held on Saturday, September 18th (10am to 9pm) and Sunday, September 19th (11am to 7pm).
“It’s a heavy lift because we have a board where everything works. It’s all done by volunteers. It’s a heavy lift, but we can get it done. Nashville Pride Community Affairs Director Philkovucci said:
This year, participants will need to provide proof of vaccination or proof of being negative from COVID-19.
Proof of a negative COVID-19 test must be done 72 hours before Saturday, September 18th. Participants are advised to wear masks to ensure the safety of everyone.
It is advisable to purchase all tickets in advance to reduce contact. Participants can use the Nashville Pride app to pre-order drinks / products to reduce contact.
Rapid testing will be available in the field from Friday to weekends. It costs you $ 40.
Last year, Nashville Pride was virtual, and in 2021 we wanted to bring people together and make it happen in a safe way.
They felt that the COVID-19 policy being implemented was the safest way to do so. Kobucci says there was more than a year of uncertainty for so many people.
He says the LGBTQ + community really needs a place to get together and celebrate their presence.
“It’s great to be able to get people together. It’s great to be able to get all the organizations and people working with LGBTQIA in a safe place and to be able to do so. Our existence. To celebrate, to celebrate who we are, and also to connect people with the services and resources they need to prosper, “said Kobucci.
The Nashville Pride parade begins Saturday at 10am and begins on Second Avenue and Union Street. They have apps that you can download to see the routes and all the activities planned for kids and adults.
