Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV) – Nashville SC didn’t attack first, but it did attack last Tuesday in its first round match against Orlando City SC.

Nashville launched the 2021 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs with a powerful 3-1 victory in front of more than 26,000 fans at Nissan Stadium.

Orlando City set the tone early on in the 14th minute of play, drawing the first blood from a corner kick with a Darryl Dyke header.

Orlando City’s lead lasts about 7 minutes.

Hany Mukhtar scored a goal in the 21st minute by launching a rocket over goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.

In the second half of the game, Mukhtar shot another cross, a corner passed Gallese to give Nashville a lead, and Jhonder Cádiz scored a goal in overtime.

Nashville SC will head to the city of Brotherly Love on Sunday to play against the Philadelphia Union in the second round of the playoffs.

The kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 pm CST.
