National Weather Service confirms 7 tornadoes in southwest Kansas Tuesday – Wichita, Kansas

Dodge City, Kansas (KSNW) – Completed a survey of tornadoes that occurred on Tuesday night in southwestern Kansas and found seven twister evidences of EF-0 to EF-1 intensities.

The No. 1 tornado was rated EF-1 with a wind of 110 mph. It happened near Sublet at around 9:23 pm and ended near Copeland. The damage was limited to rural areas, the pivot irrigation system was reversed, and the annex was damaged.

Tornado No. 2 was rated EF-0 with a wind of 80 mph. It started around 10:12 pm near Howell. It ended around 10:22 pm. Minor damage was reported in the annex of the farm.

Tornado No. 3 was rated EF-1 with a wind of 110 mph. It started near Spearville around 10:39 pm and ended near Hanston at 10:51 pm. The damage was limited to the irrigation system and the annex.

Tornado No. 4 was evaluated as unknown. It started around 11:48 pm northwest of Greensburg and ended around 11:54 pm. No damage has been recorded. The tornado was part of a pair of tornadoes that occurred at the same time.

Tornado No. 5 was rated EF-1 with a wind of 86 mph. It started around 11:49 pm northwest of Greensburg and ended around 11:54 pm. The tornado overturned the irrigation system.

Tornado No. 6 was rated EF-1. It started around 11:59 pm near Felsberg and ended at 12:08 am. This was the first of two simultaneous tornadoes.

Tornado No. 7 was rated EF-1. It started around 12:05 am and ended around 12:12 am near Troussdale. The tornado caused damage to the trees and irrigation system. A farm northeast of Trosdale was damaged. The greenhouse was also destroyed.
