NB I-25 shut down near Larkspur following 2 multi-vehicle crashes – Denver, Colorado

Denver, Colorado 2021-11-25 10:31:09 –

According to the Denver-Colorado Patrol, the north-facing lane of Interstate 25 was closed early Thursday morning near Larkspur after two collisions on a highway involving multiple vehicles.

According to CSP spokesman Josh Lewis, the NB I-25 was closed between Upper Lake Gulch Road and Spruce Mountain Road. The crash caused minor injuries, Lewis said.

Traffic is diverted to the northbound I-25 at the Spruce Mountain Road exit, and the driver returns from the ramp to the interstate highway. When heading from Colorado Springs, it’s a good idea to head east from the monument to Highway 83 to avoid a crash.

It’s not clear how the crash happened, but Lewis told Denver 7 that he’s working to clear the area for investigation. The crashes were reported to each other in 20 minutes and the first call occurred at 7:35 am.

There is no estimate for reopening the northbound lane.
