Columbia, South Carolina (WSPA) – Attorney General, South Carolina, said a woman in North Carolina was charged 16 times with illegal acts related to her liability as a caregiver in Spartanberg’s White Oak Assisted Living. I did.
Mooresboro’s Erica Daniel Gilbert Nichols, 28, was indicted by a Grand Jury in Spartanberg County on September 17.
According to SCAGO, Nichols stole regulated substances prescribed to residents of the facility from October 2020 to March 2021 and illegally possessed them.
SCAGO said Nichols failed to administer the prescribed medication and ignored and exploited the population by illegally using the prescribed medication for patients receiving her care.
According to SCAGO, Nichols has been charged with the following charges:
- 5 counts of illegal possession of regulated substances
- 1 count of vulnerable adult negligence
- 5 Counts of Vulnerable Adult Exploitation
- 5 counts of controlled substance theft
The Medicade Fraud Control Unit at the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case under the jurisdiction of patient abuse following an investigation conducted by the SC Health and Environment Administration.
