United Airlines said nearly 600 employees are facing retirement because they refused to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The company announced its vaccination obligation policy in August, allowing employees to show evidence of at least one vaccination until September 27.

CNBC 96% of United employees are vaccinated and 3% report applying for tax exemption for medical or religious reasons.
