Goldsboro, NC (WNCN) — Saturday afternoon, Kimberly Head noticed a new hut in his neighbor’s backyard just behind his home.
A few hours later, she was distrustful after learning that the hut was involved in the death of her longtime neighbor and family friend.
“I was purely shocked,” Head told CBS17.
A 64-year-old Alex Economy, reportedly from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, died trying to set up a portable shed behind his home on Longs Plant Farm Road near Elroy, near 70 off the United States.
According to the report, the soft ground shifted Jack as the economy worked on the hut. After that, the hut fell from the concrete block that supported the structure.
The hut fell on top of a trapped economy, officials said.
Neighbors said the CBS17 economy was the type of person who provided produce from his yard in the summer and was there because of the “waves” from him regardless of the season.
“He was a great, great neighbor. A great man,” said Kimberly’s husband, Gary Head.
Head acknowledged the turmoil that no man had lived near him for more than a decade.
“Sad. It’s like a member of a family,” Garyhead said.
