Las Vegas (FOX5)-The Nevada Union for Suicide Prevention hosted its 15th annual “Walk in Memory-Walk for Hope” event on Saturday.
Held at Bob Miller Middle School in Henderson, hundreds of pedestrians helped those suffering from mental health problems, remembering the people in the area that killed them.
Nearly 350 teens and their families walked with Hope Means Nevada, a non-profit organization focused on youth suicide prevention.
The keynote speaker for this event was Michael Worthen, EMS Director of the Nevada Nuclear Test Site Fire Rescue Team. Worthen is working to raise awareness of maintaining the mental health of first responders.
