Las Vegas (FOX5)-Members of law enforcement and the Las Vegas community praised the Nevada Highway Patrol soldiers who collapsed when his body was moved on Saturday.

Trooper Mikamei’s body was moved from the University Medical Center to the Clark County Coroners Office on Saturday afternoon. He will be taken to the funeral hall on Sunday.

When NHP drove May’s patrol vehicle to the coroner’s office, local fire and police officers, as well as other first responders, were lined up on the road near the University Medical Center.

I could see the car in May covered with flowers and in memory of colleagues, friends and members of the community.

May died Thursday after the incident on July 27. Soldiers were attacked by Carjack’s car when he placed a spike strip along an I-15 near Sahara Avenue. The suspect was killed in response to law enforcement agencies.

“Because my heart is heavy [NHP] Trooper Mika May # 6203, “NHP Southern Command said in a tweet on Thursday night.

“The hero of Trooper May exemplifies the definition of a guardian of silence. His dedication and service will never be forgotten,” said George Triatti, director of the Nevada Department of Public Security, in a statement. “Our heart is directed at this sad family and acknowledges the unique sacrifice to Nevada.”
