Las Vegas (FOX5)-Two Nevada men have been convicted of illegally killing wildlife in multiple counties, the Nevada Wildlife Service said.

The investigation began when game guards leaked information about the illegal antelope killing near Lund in White Pine County.

Evidence later linked Alamo’s 22-year-old Garrett Higby to a shooting and killed an illegal Bruelk in August 2018. His acquaintance, 25-year-old Jordan Kurtis, is associated with the killing of two mule deer near Haiko in Lincoln.

“This was a worrying incident,” Gamewarden captain Jake Creamer said in a media statement. “Evidence continued to lead from one crime to another.”

NDOW said Higby pleaded guilty to the unlawful killings of both animals and was convicted of a felony bull and a serious misdemeanor of an antelope. He was sentenced to 90 days in White Pine County Jail and fined $ 14,000.

He has also been charged with additional charges in Lincoln County for the unlawful killings of mule deer. Cristo was convicted of a serious misdemeanor and sentenced to a $ 5,000 fine and 14 days in prison in Lincoln County Jail, officials said.
