Carson City (AP) — On Sunday, Nevada health officials reported 2,259 new COVID-19 cases and an additional 17 deaths.
The latest figures have pushed the state’s total to 248,568 and 3,467 known deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic.

On Saturday, Nevada Department of Health and Human Services officials reported 2,648 new coronaviruses and 56 additional deaths.
The record for the day was 60 deaths reported on Wednesday.
Statistics show that 1,837 new cases and 7 deaths occurred in Clark County, the state’s largest county, including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Nevada health officials expect a surge in cases and deaths in the coming weeks following Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s Day rallies.
