Reno, Nevada (AP) — Death sentence disputes in Nevada Supreme Court prior to trial of Salvador immigrants charged with murder of four people in rural Reno and Douglas County during an 11-day rampage in January 2019 Is in progress.

The judge will hear a discussion on Wednesday about how long his lawyer must prove that he is mentally retarded. Wilber Ernesto Martinez-Guzman will be tried on September 20th.

His public defender says a judge in Washoe County set a premature deadline on April 20 to file a complaint of intellectual disability. They say Nevada law allows such allegations up to 10 days before the trial.
