Kansas City, Missouri (KCTV)-Missouri is one of the county’s most popular coronavirus spots.
According to the data from New York Times, Show-Me State is at the top of the list of new cases per 100,000 residents over the last 7 days.
This means that more people will test positive for COVID-19.
The state is also at the top of the list of the largest 14-day changes in the country. Missouri added more than 600 cases per day during that period.
This is not the case across the United States, where the average is declining.
Missouri’s COVID-19 vaccination rate may be related to it. It is one of the lowest in the country.
Of the adults in the United States, 55.6% are fully vaccinated. In Kansas, that number is 52%. But in Missouri, that number is only 47%.
It ranks Missouri 40th in the country.
This all happens because a new Delta variant of the virus has spread to 49 states.
President Joe Biden calls it a serious concern. “This is a more susceptible, potentially deadly, and dangerous variant, especially for young people.”
A single dose of Pfizer vaccine provides 33% protection against mutants. Both doses increase it to 88%.
