North Las Vegas (KLAS) – The arrest report sheds new light on the arrest of a North Las Vegas man accused of shooting and injuring his two-year-old son.
Devon Lewis, 29, was arrested on Tuesday shortly after his son was shot dead and injured in an apartment in North Las Vegas. The boy was admitted to the intensive care unit at a university medical center.
According to the arrest report, Lewis initially told the detective that he did not know how the boy was shot. But after he was pushed, Lewis admitted that he had a .380 caliber pistol in his pocket and the gun fired when the boy accidentally reached for it.
According to the arrest warrant, Lewis also admitted that he hid his pants and gun in the apartment, but police recovered after issuing a search warrant.
The shooting was on Tuesday afternoon, E. It took place in an apartment near Cheyenne Avenue and the Civic Center. The boy’s mother and grandmother told police that they were in the kitchen when they heard a big “pop” and the boy running towards them bloody.
