New evacuation orders in place in Tulare County due to Windy Fire – Fresno, California

Tulare County, California (KFSN)-A new evacuation order was issued Wednesday night as windy fires continue to rise in the Sierra National Forest.

Orders affect Camp Nelson, Peer Point, Koi Flat, Mountain Air, Cedar Slope, Alpine Village, Roger Camp, and Sequoia Crest.

Evacuation orders mean there is an imminent threat to life and should be left shortly before the fire reaches the area.

A temporary shelter was set up at Porterville College on 100 East College Avenue. Anyone in need of assistance can call 211.

Other evacuation orders include Ponderosa, Quaking aspen, Johnsondale, and Camp Whitset. This includes M107 at Dome Rock, east of Lloyd Meadow (MT22S82) on Lower Peppermint Road, south of M99 on Sherman Pass Road, and west of M107 and M50.

Windy fires burned over 30,000 acres, almost uncontained.
