Corpus Christi, Texas — If you’ve been to Texas State Aquarium recently, you might have noticed something new there.

A large sculpture is on display, and the sculpture is made from plastic trash washed up on a beach in Texas.

All the art sculptures in the trash can are part of a partnership between the aquarium and a group called “Washed up Texas” on South Padre Island. The team over there created large sculptures, and they are part of a large temporary exhibit called Planet or Plastic.

“It’s a combination of Connie’s sculptures, amazing National Geographic photographs, and the interpretations we’re making on-site at the changing exhibition gallery, all of which come together at Memorial Day Weekend,” said Tom Schmidt. Says. President and Chief Executive Officer of Texas State Aquarium.

Schmidt says he wants to raise awareness and educate people about the problem of plastic pollution in the ocean. Again, the exhibition will be held on Memorial Day weekends and will be held throughout the summer.
