West Palm Beach, Florida — Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a first aid bill at a public school aimed at saving the lives of teens.

The law requires a Florida school district to provide CPR training to students and show them how to use an automated external defibrillator if the school district has the necessary equipment.

The school is required to teach a one-hour course in grades 9 and 11, and it is also encouraged to start in grades 6 and 8 if possible.

A man in South Florida helped bring the law to fruition.

Ed Kosiec said he suffered cardiac arrest at a restaurant in Boynton Beach two years ago and saved his life in CPR until a teen responder arrived.His non-profit organization Cooperated with lawmakers To pass the bill.
