New Jersey declares September 23rd as ‘Bruce Springsteen Day’

Garden State legend Bruce Springsteen is vacationing in New Jersey.

On Saturday, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced that September 23rd was officially declared Bruce Springsteen’s birthday.

Murphy made the announcement at the American Music Honors in New York. Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University CBS News Philadelphia report.

“Bruce Springsteen is one of the most famous, iconic and influential musicians of all time and also a New Jersey man,” Murphy said. His musical gift of lending his time to causes close to his heart, including making the Archive and the Center for Music of America a repository of inspiration for tomorrow’s songwriters and singers.

“We thank him for showing the world what it means to live New Jersey values. We are honored and proud to announce his birthday in New Jersey on Bruce Springsteen Day.” he added.

In 2016, Springsteen was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama, and this year National Medal of Arts By President Biden.
