New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said the state remains obliged to use indoor masks despite new relaxed guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

CDC Updated policy On Thursday, fully vaccinated Americans said it was safe to throw away their masks in most settings, whether they were outdoors or indoors.

Fully vaccinated New Jersey residents can remove their masks outdoors, but Murphy says that unvaccinated people wear masks outdoors when they are “near” others. I said I should keep doing it.

Outbreaks in New Jersey peaked in January with an average of over 6,000 new cases per day for the seven days, but have since settled to an average of about 500 cases per day over the past week.

This announcement will be made when other states decide whether to incorporate the new CDC guidelines into their policies.

Hawaii Governor David Ige said his state’s Maskmandate remains valid for everyone, whether vaccinated or not, despite the CDC’s new recommendations. Hawaii recorded the highest 7-day average of about 250 cases a day in late August. Currently, on average, there are less than 90 new cases per day.

Texas lifted Maskman Date in March, two months ahead of the CDC’s announcement. Texas recorded an average of more than 23,000 cases in January for seven days, just two months before the mask was lifted. Last week, an average of over 2,200 new cases were recorded daily.

The Texas Department of Health told CNBC that authorities have agreed to the new CDC guidelines and are in the process of updating their recommendations.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the state is reviewing mask guidance with experts from neighboring states following the new CDC’s recommendations. The state of New York reported an average of about 17,000 peaks over a seven-day period in January. Currently, we record more than 2,000 cases a day.

In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio praised the move as “a monumental day in the fight against Covid-19,” and said the city was reviewing its own guidelines.
