Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE) – The crew is preparing for this year’s state fair, the state’s largest pre-pandemic event. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some popular events have been damperped, but what about other events? The organizers said they believe this will be one of the best trade fairs ever, with more entertainment than ever, despite some of the challenges facing the pandemic.
It’s been over a year since New Mexico was able to flood Expo New Mexico for some food, fun and rides at the fair. But it’s finally time. The 11-day event is scheduled to take place this Thursday and hopes to bring back hundreds of acts and other local entertainers.
Dan Morning, General Manager of the New Mexico Expo, said: “Our stage is all full.”
In mourning, I’ve more than doubled the number of things I see, such as sea lion spectacles and parakeet shows. Mourning is worrisome because there are still plenty of vehicles, dancers, art exhibitions, and of course lots of food, despite concerns that COVID could affect popular events at this year’s fair. I said it wasn’t necessary.
“Food concessions alone, we only have about 60 to 70 different concessions,” Mourning said. “This does not include the presence of 15 to 20 different food vendors.”
Of course, there are some changes to the fair for the pandemic. Including complying with state obligations At the fair, guest vaccination proof is required Some people don’t go inside because the mask is worn indoors.
“I know about pandemics and all this, we want to worry about it,” said Troy Campo. “But at the extreme of what most states are going on, they follow each other, I disagree with it, and I can spend my money elsewhere.”
The organizers understand why they don’t come, but hope they will come in the future.
“We understand that these are unprecedented times,” he mourns. “I miss you this year, but I guarantee I can see you next year.”
Vaccinations are required, but there are certain religious or medical exemptions that are granted, but they must also be accompanied by a negative COVID test that is done within 48 hours. The organizer said the fair is always looking Volunteers and workers..
