New pizza shop finds secret ingredient to rebound during the pandemic – Tampa, Florida

Tampa, Florida — A Tampa man who started a new business during a pandemic, many would say crazy, has been successful.

Jason Fox opened Palazzo Pizza Italiana on January 28th in the SOHO district of Tampa.

“I’ve always wanted to enter the restaurant business and hospitality as an operator,” Fox said.

Fox is not a stranger to good gambling.

His job took him to Las Vegas and northeastern casinos, but there was something about going home to make his dream come true.

He brings heart while his business partner Dino Trafficante has humor.

“Yes, there are more disadvantages than advantages. There are far more, but it’s fun,” said Traficante. “This saved us because I’ve been working at home for a year and a half. You go home and sit there for days doing nothing. It’s good to go out. House’s.”

The opening month was strong. Delivery in the pandemic world has played a major role.

“Things are great. We start seeing the same face in the dining room every week. I’m aware of the same name on takeaway orders,” Fox said.

Palazzo is not the only one who is making a leap in faith.

With a dog bar and taco shop across the street, the city is in the spotlight and is working to keep pedestrians safe when visiting new businesses.

Plans are underway to install traffic lights on Pratt Street and Freemont Avenue to create safer sidewalks.

Fox and Traficante said they knew the risks and that the rewards were well worth it.
