Boston (WHDH)-Fireworks will illuminate the night sky of Boston again on New Year’s Eve this year.
Friends of Christopher Columbus Park and Boston Harbor announced on Friday that they would launch fireworks inside Boston Harbor between the North End and the East Boston area as part of the City of Boston’s First Night celebration.
“We look forward to Boston ringing in the New Year and the return of midnight fireworks to the harbor. Mayor Michelle Wu said in a statement that this tradition was revived for everyone to enjoy together. We thank our visitors and all our partners for making a good start for all the spectators on the waterfront.
Free public viewing is available along the Funpia Harbor Walk, Christopher Columbus Park, and East Boston’s waterfront.
The fireworks display will start soon at midnight.
