The opening statement of a man’s murder trial accused of murdering rapper Nipsey Hussle three years ago began on Wednesday.
Eric Ronald Holder Jr. was charged in May 2019 with a deadly shooting of Hustle, also known as Hermias Asgedom, who was killed outside a clothing store in Los Angeles in March 2019.
The jury was elected on Monday, and six alternative juries were elected on Tuesday, ABC-affiliated KABC reported.
According to KTLA, investigators identified Holder as a shooter, and police captured him after nearly 48 hours of searching.
The press reported that a 33-year-old Grammy-winning artist died of a gunshot wound on his head and torso.
The owner was charged with one attempted murder, two attempted murders, and one possession of a firearm by a serious offender.
If convicted, he could be sentenced to the highest death sentence in a state prison.
