KOIN, Oregon — No animal damage was caused by an electric fire that broke out in a pet shop in the Scappoose area on Saturday.

An All About Pet employee on the Columbia River Highway called 911 at 8:30 am and reported the smelling smoke inside the building. When the paramedics arrived, they quickly found an electric fire with a radius of about 6 feet, according to Scapuse Fire Department officials.

“The fire spread to the non-bearing structural components of the crawl space above the second floor,” SFD said. “The crew was able to control the fire with about 10 gallons of water.”

According to SFD, All About Pets should soon be able to enter regular retail stores.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
