“Domestic violence can occur between family members as well as intimate partners. The sadness of losing a loved one in domestic violence is exacerbated only by complex family relationships and play dynamics. “In this case, a young woman lost her brother and husband the same night. One left forever. The other is looking at a potential life statement.”
Rollins said her office would provide the support and resources that the victim’s family might need to begin the “long road to legal proceedings and healing.”
Prosecutors demanded that Rogers be detained without bail, and Rogers lawyer Jose Serpa demanded that bail be set at $ 25,000. In the end, Judge James Stanton ruled in favor of the prosecutor.
Rogers will return to court on March 22nd.
