Window Rock, Arizona (AP) —Tuesday Navajo Nation reported an additional 85 COVID-19 cases, with no 14th additional death in the last 20 days.
Since the pandemic began over a year ago, the latest figures have pushed the tribal total from the virus to 34,999 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The known death toll remains 1,464. Tribal authorities are still encouraging people to be vaccinated, wear masks in public, and minimize travel. Based on the case from October 1st to 14th, the Navajo Ministry of Health issued recommendations to 31 communities for the uncontrolled spread of the coronavirus.
The tribal settlement is the largest in the country at 27,000 square miles and covers parts of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.
