Rutherford County, Tennessee (WKRN) —Tuesday night, the Rutherford County Board of Education held a special meeting to discuss the COVID-19 mitigation strategy, but no decision was reached.

According to the district, 10,000 students had to be quarantined for at least one day last week.

Masks are currently an option in the school district, but are highly recommended.

At the meeting on Tuesday, several hours of discussion took place to discuss mitigation strategies, including the possibility of mask mandates. At some point, a man was escorted from the meeting by a sheriff’s agent.

The meeting was postponed until 5 pm on Wednesday
