Las Vegas (KTNV) — A report of the arrest of a California mother accused of murdering her 7-year-old son and dumping his body near Las Vegas has been released. However, not much new information is provided.

According to arrest reports, Liam Hasted’s naked body was found near the trail on Route 160 at around 7:45 am on May 28.

Previous story: John’Little Zion’Doe was clearly identified as a boy from California and his mother wanted to be murdered.

Las Vegas police have determined that death is inherently suspicious. On the same day, an autopsy was initiated by the Clark County Autopsy Department. Coroners commented on how to die as a murder because of multiple injuries, but refused to submit the final cause of death until toxicological results were obtained.

The report also revealed that 35-year-old Samantha Moreno Rodriguez and the boy’s father, Nicholas Hasted, had relationships problems for two years before the child was killed.

Relation: Californian mother left a note to her father before taking her son to Las Vegas

In addition, the report detailed a text exchange between a friend who contacted police after seeing Liam’s sketch and Liam’s mother.

A friend reportedly sent a text message to Moreno Rodriguez on May 17th to celebrate his birthday. At that time, Moreno Rodriguez sent her a text message saying she and Liam would be going to Las Vegas from May 17th to 23rd.

Moreno Rodriguez and her son appear to have left their home in California on May 24th. On May 26th, they were seen at Laguna Beach. They were last discovered in the Victorville area before leaving California.

It is believed that on May 27, the mother and son spent the night at a hotel in Las Vegas. On May 29, a Moreno Rodriguez car was found in Colorado.

Nicholas Hasted contacted the San Jose Police Department on June 1. He did not report that his son was missing at the time, but told police to let them know that the pair was gone. He told police that Moreno Rodriguez broke up with him.

The report also revealed that Moreno Rodriguez used Groupon to acquire a hotel room in Inglewood, Colorado. She was observed in a surveillance video checking in to the hotel alone on May 31st. Then she checked out on June 1st.

The mother was not arrested until June 8. At that time she was with a man. The report does not specify what she was doing from June 1st to June 8th.
