Window Rock, Arizona (AP) —Navajo Nation reported 35 additional COVID-19 cases as of Sunday with no deaths.
The tribe has seen 33,234 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,419 viral deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic. Navajo officials are urging people to be vaccinated, wear masks in public, and minimize travel. Authorities say all employees of Navajo Nation’s government office must be fully vaccinated against the virus or undergo regular testing by the end of this month. The new rules apply to full-time, part-time and temporary employees.
The country’s largest tribal settlement covers parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.
