Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) — The Wichita Public Library makes it easier for people to enjoy what the library offers, even if they don’t have time to visit directly.

The library provides a way for people to sign up for instant digital cards. With this card you can read ebooks and listen to audiobooks.

All of this is available from the Wichita Public Library reading app Libby. Residents who do not currently have a library card can instantly sign up for an instant digital card in just 30 seconds with the Libby app. Signing up with your mobile number gives your customers access to a digital collection of reading material.

Residents can download the Libby app or Access on desktop.. Select “Sign up for an instant digital card” and enter your mobile phone number. A one-time verification code will be sent to your mobile phone and the code will be entered into Libby for access.

In a news release, Wichita Public Library Collection Development Manager Sarah Kitrel said, “This service provides another way for residents to access parts of the library’s collection, so this time it’s time to go to a physical location. I’m excited even if I don’t have it. “

Libby is compatible with all major computers and devices. Through Libby, all titles will automatically expire at the end of the loan period and there will be no late fees.

Instant digital cards are not Wichita Public Library cards. If you would like to register your Wichita Public Library Card, please drop in at one of the seven locations.
