Gallatin, Tennessee (WTVF) — Sumner County is one of the communities that allows people over the age of 65 to start booking vaccines.

However, some older people have a hard time finding transportation.

That’s where groups like the non-profit Community Life Bridge come in.

For those who do not have access to transportation, volunteers offer free rides to seniors living in Hendersonville and Gallatin who will be vaccinated.

Volunteer State Community College is currently the largest vaccination site in the region.

“Many older people in our community are returning home, there is no way to meet their needs, and most people have no way to see a doctor and get the COVID vaccine at a very specific time. If you think you’ll be surprised, the place. ” Lauren Ruder, executive director of Community Lifebridge, said.

From disinfecting the car to wearing masks for both the driver and the rider, Sluder said he took additional steps to ensure that the vehicle was safe. Some drivers are vaccinated.

The Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines need to be given twice, so seniors can ride twice for free.
