Fargo, North Dakota-A man in North Dakota pleaed in June for killing a 14-year-old girl who was strangled and stabbed more than 20 times outside the store in a random attack.
Arthur Collier, 22, entered Alford’s plea on Monday with the death of Jupiter Paulsen. On plea, the Fargo man maintains his innocence, but admits that there is ample evidence of conviction.
According to the charging document, sanitary workers saw Collier attacking the girl outside Fargo’s Party City store on the morning of June 4. Witnesses told police that they had seen Collier strangled. After Collier escaped, workers said he had begun a life-saving effort and called 911.
According to autopsy, the cause of death was choking due to strangulation with multiple sharp force injuries. According to court documents, the girl was stabbed more than 20 times.
Kollie told investigators that he was suffering from anxiety, depression, and multiple personality disorders and used methamphetamine that day, KVLY-TV reported citing court documents.
Investigators have not found evidence that Collier and the girl knew each other.
Collier initially pleaded guilty to a felony of murder, robbery and assault in the Cass District Court on Monday, but later changed it to Alford’s plea.
