Kansas City, Missouri — Unvaccinated or immunocompromised North Kansas City School students and staff are required (but not required) to wear masks this fall.
Director Duncremens shared his recommendations with the school board at a special board meeting Thursday night.
“The number of COVID-19 cases for students and staff has remained very low for the past four weeks,” said an update on the NKC School website. “We pay attention to contact tracking and reporting and provide you with up-to-date information about local data on a regular basis.”
Clements also told the board that the district recommends that students aged at least 12 years be considered vaccinated against the virus.
According to the statement, no additional discussions took place during the meeting, but district leaders were “in constant contact” with the Clay County Health Department and other school districts.
“If we see data showing spikes in a particular classroom, grade level, or school, additional safety measures will be taken,” the statement read.
