Las Vegas (KLAS) – North Las Vegas police are saddened that one of the retired K9 dogs has died.
NVLPD announced on Facebook Sunday that the retired K-9 Bobby has died. He was 14-year-old Belgian Malinois.
According to NLVPD, he died of a month of embarrassing health complications on his 15th birthday.
“He will always be remembered as a good boy. Sleep peacefully and you will miss you.”
According to NVLPD, Bobby arrested 72 suspects and was found to have found 17 pieces of evidence.
Bobby is a single-purpose patrol dog for NLVPD and began his career on September 13, 2009, paired with former K-9 handler Paul Manteufel. Sergeant Manteufel was a Bobby handler from 2009 until Bobby officially retired on February 17, 2018.
Bobby walked every day and enjoyed watching TV with his adopted grandparents.
His memorial service will take place on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
