DENVER — At the end of a hot week, the DIA broke the previous record of 99 degrees in 1877 with an official afternoon high of 101 degrees. The record is 13 100 degree days set in 2012.

This weekend will bring cooler weather and more widespread humidity. Highs in the high 80s to low 90s are expected across the frontal area Saturday, with a chance of scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Sunday’s high is well below the seasonal average for the early 70s and early 80s. Showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

The next week will be drier and warmer, with highs in the mid-80s to near 90s on Monday and Tuesday.
