A 19-year-old man has been detained after a banquet shooting that killed one person last week.
Early Thursday morning, Nueces County officials responded to a call for shooting at a home on Gladys Street near the Banquet ISD School.
The shot man, 21-year-old Jorge Versosa Salt, was taken to the hospital and later died of an injury, said Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary David Cook.
Authorities believe the suspect tried to knock down the door, his ex-girlfriend replied. The suspect then went to the bedroom and fired a gun several times.
With the support of the United States Marshals Service, authorities identified the suspect and used an ankle monitor to identify the suspect. He was found and detained in a residence south of Robstown.
