New York (AP) — Authorities have charged a New York City man who they say crawled through a broken window during a siege at the US Capitol earlier this year.
David Schwartzberg surrendered on Tuesday and faced suspicion of federal chaotic acts related to the January 6 riots. As a result, several other New Yorkers were arrested.
According to court documents, an anonymous Talekomi provided the FBI with images to support the accusation that 19-year-old Schwarzberg passed through the window of the Capitol during the breach. The newspaper said he admitted to the FBI that he was there because he wanted to “become a place of action” after the rally of former President Donald Trump.
Schwarzberg, who lives in Brooklyn, was to be released without bail. A message asking for comment was left to his lawyer on Tuesday.
