The lawsuit alleges that a player on the high-ranked Orange County High School football team suffered from traumatic brain injury, gassings, and a broken nose in the changing room.
A proceeding in the Orange County Superior Court was filed on Tuesday by the player’s family against Matterday High School and the Orange Roman Catholic Parish in Santa Ana. Southern California Newsgroup report.
In a statement to SCNG, Mater Dei said: Due to the involvement of minors, no further comments can be made. “
The incident occurred in February before Mater Dei’s practice, according to a newsgroup citing two videos: police reports, surgeon reports, numerous records, court submissions, and quarrels.
Relatively newcomers to the team played against larger players in a ritual called the “body,” which was supposed to punch each other’s torso between the hips and shoulders.
However, newcomers were reportedly beaten in the head and face, significantly delaying treatment and notification to parents, the newsgroup reported.
